Thiruvananthapuram: Actress Manju Warrier will become the goodwill ambassador of State Literacy Mission.
Manju Warrier said that the Literacy Mission gives opportunity for people who have been denied formal education and tries to bring the marginalized group of people into the mainstream society.
Manju said she takes pride to become its ambassador. She is becoming the goodwill ambassador as part of social work and doesn’t receive any remuneration.
I was happy to read the news of 52-year-old Resy Mathew who got admission to Pala Alphonsa College after passing higher secondary equivalency course conducted by Literacy Mission. I saw a similarity between the character I played in ‘Udaharanam Sujatha’ and Resy Mathew. Though Kerala has the highest literacy rate in the country, many people are denied opportunities for basic education. I support all activities of Literacy Mission to ensure the provision of education to Keralites," said Manju
